Job Summary:
McNamara Contracting, a McNamara Company, is seeking a Project Accountant to manage the financial aspects of assigned construction projects, with emphasis on billing, job cost accounting, and subcontractor management. This role partners closely with internal and external project teams and requires strong communication, organization, initiatives, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. This is a fully on-site role sitting in the Empire office 5 days a week.
Position Description:
Manage project billings, including unit price, T&M, and change orders Resolve billing and payment discrepancies with project stakeholders Monitor AR, support and execute collections Effectively communicate with Project Managers and Superintendents Assign material and aggregate costs to projects for accurate tracking Verify completed work with Project Managers Analyze financial data for alignment with costs, billings, and contracts Review and track subcontractor invoices, and completed work Process pay applications, change orders, and payments Complete closeout documentation, including filing, lien waivers, and bonds Collect required subcontractor documentation Standardize billing and job cost accounting procedures Improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls in billing processes
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field 3-5 years' experience; preferably in the highway-heavy construction industry with unit pricing expertise Proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook) Vista Viewpoint experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of job cost accounting or related experience
