Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as an Automotive Accounting Specialist, where your expertise will drive financial accuracy and operational excellence within the automotive industry. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting financial decision-making processes. Responsibilities Manage and perform general ledger accounting, including account reconciliation and balance sheet analysis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining detailed records. Conduct cash management activities, including forecasting cash flows and monitoring liquidity levels to support operational needs. Prepare and review regulatory reports, financial statements, and management reports aligned with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and other relevant standards. Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and financial report writing. Support technical accounting functions such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance, IFRS adjustments, and governmental or non-profit accounting requirements where applicable. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline financial processes and ensure data integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, financial analysis, account analysis, and forecasting activities to support strategic planning. Perform account reconciliation tasks regularly to verify accuracy across various accounts using tools like General Ledger reconciliation software. Maintain thorough documentation of all financial transactions, audit trails, and compliance records to facilitate internal controls and external audits. Requirements Proven experience in automotive or related industry accounting with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account reconciliation. Demonstrated expertise in GAAP standards along with familiarity with SOX compliance, IFRS reporting standards, governmental accounting practices, or non-profit accounting is highly desirable. Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial management tools is essential. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and financial forecasting accurately. Excellent knowledge of cash management techniques combined with effective budgeting skills to optimize financial resources. Ability to handle complex technical accounting tasks involving regulatory reporting and general ledger accounting confidently. Exceptional attention to detail paired with strong organizational skills for managing multiple accounts simultaneously. Relevant certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or equivalent are preferred but not mandatory.
