Responsibilities - What you'll do Performs professional/supervisory accounting responsibilities related to interpretation/processing/ approval/presentation of financial data Processes/oversees accounts payable and receivable/monitors accounts/fund balances/ensures compliance with established procedures/principles/statutes/regulations Reviews/approves the processing of invoices/vouchers/adjustments/refunds/expenditures/ disbursements in accordance with established financial procedures/investigates discrepancies/recommends and takes appropriate corrective action within established guidelines Interprets/applies garnishments to ensure adherence to procedures and regulations Reviews pay rate changes/adjusts withholdings/responds to interrogatories Monitors contracts and grants to ensure compliance/accomplishes drawdown of funds based upon established schedules/identifies and resolves discrepancies Verifies/prepares/presents financial data used in the budget process including budget estimates based on projected level of activities Assists in the preparation/planning/development/implementation of cost allocation plans, the planning/development/implementation of procedures and policies, and compiling/preparing/analyzing/ presenting detailed financial statements, reports, and data Provides direction/supervision of clerical and technical staff, in the preparation and maintenance of financial data and related documents and exercises independent judgment and initiative in the performance of duties Receives general administrative direction and performs other related work Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
Three or more years of experience as an Accounts Assistant with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR One or more years as an Accounting Generalist I with the

and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency OR Four or more years of experience in business/government accounting (Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university, that include earned credit hours in accounting, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year). Job Details - More reasons to love this position Contingent upon your position, you may also be eligible to receive: A $2.00 per hour shift differential if you are assigned to a shift that begins on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am and are employed at a 24/7 congregate care facility (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center). A $0.75 per hour medium security or $1.50 maximum security differential if you work full-time at a qualifying facility. A $1.00 per hour restrictive housing differential if you are assigned a regular post within a restrict housing/segregation unit at any facility. The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years! If you are transferring from another State of Missouri agency and are receiving state retention pay, please be advised that the Missouri Department of Corrections administers retention based upon your retention anniversary date. As a result, your retention pay upon transfer may differ from what you were receiving at your previous agency until you reach your applicable retention anniversary date.
