About the role At Spotlight, it's our mission to craft and sustain a successful Influence Orchestration program for our clients. The Senior Accountant supports that mission as the owner of full-cycle Accounts Payable and by playing a lead role in month-end close. This position is well suited to someone who can work independently, exercise sound judgment on accrual-basis accounting, and take ownership of a growing set of close responsibilities without close supervision. Your Responsibilities Accounts Payable Facilitate bill entry, approval routing, and payment tracking Review, post, and reconcile all corporate card expenses Verify and post employee expense reports; resolve employee issues Review, post, and reconcile relevant bank transactions Maintain and reconcile various balance sheet subledgers Ad hoc reporting as required Month-End Closing Tasks Execute required entries for accrual basis reporting (enter accruals, prepare and post prepaid and amortized expenses) Prepare salary/wage accrual and reversal entries, and bonus accrual entries Prepare cost allocation entries Support revenue recognition analysis as a contributor, escalating judgment calls to the Controller Support review of financial statements for accuracy Annual Tasks 1099 reporting Support A/P functions of financial audit Other Additional projects and duties as assigned Desired Skills and Experience Required 3+ years of experience in accounts payable, general ledger accounting, or a combined accounting role Demonstrated ability to own month-end close tasks (accruals, reconciliations) independently Working knowledge of GAAP accrual-basis accounting Experience with cloud-based AP platforms (BILL, Ramp, or equivalents) Comfortable owning close tasks independently with minimal supervision Strong organizational habits and clean documentation practices Nice to Have NetSuite experience Exposure to multi-entity or multi-subsidiary accounting Experience supporting revenue recognition or subscription billing analysis
