Job Description

Senior Accountant St. Louis, MO Job Description The Senior Accountant maintains the integrity of financial records and ensures full compliance with U.S. and international regulatory and accounting standards. This role leads core accounting operations, including general ledger management, audit coordination, payroll and benefits accounting, and month-end and year-end close. The Senior Accountant also supports tax and regulatory reporting, drives process improvements, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to enhance financial accuracy, transparency, and efficiency. Responsibilities Maintain operational compliance with U.S. and international regulatory standards, including FDA, DEA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, and cGMP, as they relate to financial processes and reporting. Ensure all financial activities strictly adhere to GAAP and IFRS standards, as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Lead coordination for internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and driving timely resolution of audit findings. Coordinate sales and use tax activities with third-party specialists, including information gathering, review, and support of filings. Prepare government census reports and other miscellaneous regulatory or statistical reporting as required. Manage general ledger integrity by performing comprehensive account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions. Execute month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account analyses, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Direct payroll and benefits accounting by verifying expenses, recording entries, managing related accruals, and ensuring accurate classification of costs. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles. Strong understanding of
U.S. GAAP
with knowledge of IFRS considered a plus. Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations. Demonstrated experience executing month-end and year-end close processes. Experience with payroll and benefits accounting, including expense verification and accruals. Additional Skills & Qualifications Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly desired. Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or similar professional certification is highly desired. International accounting experience is a plus.
