This position would be direct support to the VP of Finance and Senior Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department. A BS/BA and up to of 2 years of experience in Accounting are required. We are looking for candidates who are detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and experience with Microsoft Excel. Are you eager to grow with our company and showcase your skills? Duties and Responsibilities Complete the daily banking requirements. Assist with completion of monthly financial statements. Make monthly general ledger entries for various accruals and prepayments. Prepare schedules and provide requested backup and explanations for the annual audit. Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure. Complete intercompany transactions. Support accounts payable department, including processing A/P transactions. Support accounts receivable department, including cash application and managing customer accounts. Respond to inquiries from the President, and VP of Finance regarding financial results. Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required. Skills and Qualifications Education BS/BA in accounting is required Technical Skills and Prior Experience Up to 2 years of experience in Accounting is required. Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Excel with an emphasis on vlookup and pivot tables. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining exceptional accuracy, is required. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Strong organizational and problem solving skills. Willingness to be a team player - doing whatever is necessary to get the job done. Experience with intercompany transactions a plus. Quickbooks or AS400 knowledge a plus. Trucking industry experience a plus.
