Staff Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join a non-profit organization in St. Louis, Missouri, on a contract basis. In this role, you will handle essential accounting operations and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records. This is an onsite position where your expertise will play a key role in ensuring smooth financial processes and reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Manage cash flow to ensure the organization's financial stability.
• Perform reconciliations and ensure accuracy across all financial records.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting documentation for annual audits.
• Utilize QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Excel to handle accounting tasks efficiently.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes.
• Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations.
• Maintain compliance with non-profit accounting standards and practices.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records proactively.
• Provide support for additional accounting projects as required.
