Drury Hotels is seeking a Tax Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This role is ideal for someone coming from an accounting firm or tax agency background who wants to transition into an in‑house role with consistent workloads, a supportive team, and a people‑first culture.

BASIC FUNCTION
: Th e Tax Accountant position is r esponsible for coordinating the income tax function of Drury Hotels and assisting the Tax Manager with various duties in the s ales t ax area of Drury Hotels . The position requires the preparation of annual income tax return s . This person will also be responsible for assisting in audit management and monitoring tax compliance . This position requires a high standard of integrity, service, and hospitality at all times to promote the D rury culture with co-workers , vendors & customers .
Job Duties:
Exemplifies a +1 Service a ttitude and provides courteous, friendly customer service by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries and requests. Maintains sensitive and confidential information in an appropriate manner and maintains discretion and confidentiality in all matters. Coordinates the income tax function including reporting, planning , and compliance functions. Coordinates the preparation of income tax work papers. Prepares and files annual income tax returns of Drury Hotels Company. Coordinates the annual tax return review performed by the approved consulting vendor. Provides information requests and tax filings to Drury Hotels Company stakeholders. Prepare s income tax extensions and assist s with tax notices as needed. Maintains tax depreciation software and book-to-tax reconciliation. Coordinates necessary tax registrations for new Drury hotel locations / legal entities. Assisting with coordinatin g state/local sales tax audits; gathering of records and reviewing exhibits . Assisting with p erform ing sales, use and occupancy tax research and monit oring compliance in multiple states. Assisting with resolution of various tax notices, tax clearance letters and closing accounts. Provide s assistance to other departments and special projects . Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a ccounting , f inance or relevant income t ax experience required . 3
  • 5 years of relevant experience preferred .
Form 1065 preparation experience preferred. Workday experience preferred . CCH ProSystem Fx experience preferred. Sage Fixed Assets experience preferred. Advanced Excel knowledge required .
Knowledge and Skills :
Proficiency in or knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office . Must have the ability to do data entry with efficiency and accuracy . M ay require a minimum of one week dedicated rGuest Stay training at a selected hotel in all aspects of the property management system . High level of interpersonal skills to handle and maintain sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Keen attention to detail in drafting and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Articulate and persuasive communicator

The Tax Accountant position is based in the Cape Girardeau , MO corporate office. The noise level in the work environment is t ypical of an office environment and the characteristics here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
