Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join our manufacturing team in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role will play an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the monthly close cycle, and delivering timely analysis that helps leaders make informed business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment. This is a 100% on-site role located in Richland, MS.

Responsibilities:

Drive monthly closing activities by preparing and posting journal entries that support accurate and timely financial reporting. Complete balance sheet and other account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding issues with a high degree of accuracy. Review financial statements and related reporting each month to confirm completeness, identify unusual trends, and highlight items needing attention. Partner with credit and collections teams to support cash application, improve payment timing, and help address billing or remittance concerns. Collaborate closely with project leaders, department managers, and other internal stakeholders to provide accounting insight and operational support. Maintain accounting records, schedules, and control documentation while coordinating materials needed for internal and external audit requests. Produce requested financial analyses, management reports, and other ad hoc support materials to aid planning and decision-making. Provide coverage for payroll and additional accounting duties during team absences to help ensure essential processes stay on schedule. Work with accounts payable to assign appropriate coding to invoices and support timely vendor payments. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. At least 3 years of accounting experience in a relevant business environment. Hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, and data review. Experience using ERP platforms, with Oracle preferred; exposure to consolidation tools such as OneStream is a plus. Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process improvement and strong internal controls. Effective communication skills and the ability to build productive working relationships across departments and organizational levels.
