Legacy Building | Accounting | Full Time Posted 7 days ago Apply Save Description The Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial and accounting operations of Bozeman Health and affiliates through journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, asset record keeping and financial reporting. This role plays a key part in the monthly close process, fixed asset accounting, Foundation accounting and health and benefit plan accounting. The Accountant maintains financial integrity by ensuring timely and accurate reporting, supporting capital procurement and tracking, leading and validating the annual physical inventory process and serving as an accounting process support expert to leaders and teams throughout the organization. This position is also responsible for workpaper and data support in the annual budgeting, auditing and regulatory reporting functions across the health system.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Two (2) years of accounting experience.
Preferred:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA). One (1) year of healthcare experience.
Essential Job Functions:
In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must maintain timely completion of all required education, trainings, and certifications as assigned and in accordance with Bozeman Health policies, department-specific requirements, applicable certification program and registry requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations. Asset Management tracking, reconciliation, and reporting. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and balance sheet accounts. Lead year-end physical inventory process and validation. Compile Foundation accounting records and produce financial reports. Maintain health and benefit plan records and reporting. Prepare and assist with audit and budget workpapers. Other accounting functions to support the needs of the Finance team. Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule Requirements:
This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
