Description

Essential Functions & Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Contribute to resolution of more complex accounting reconciliations and variances where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines, processes, or regulations.
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff.
  • Take an active role in management of the bank's daily cash position, including recommendations to management regarding available borrowing options.
  • Prepare and monitor Property Tax accruals.
  • Maintain and update fixed assets, utilizing accounting software to generate detailed reports on assets values and depreciation schedules for management review.
  • Perform monthly fixed asset reconciliations to identify discrepancies and ensure the accuracy of asset data within the reporting system.
  • Assist with analysis of bank and holding company financial statements.
  • Assist with maintaining holding company records and transactions.
  • Assist with maintaining subsidiary company records and transactions.
  • Assist with completion of intercompany records and transactions. -
  • Prepare and review reports for Chief Financial Officer, Controller, Board and ALCO
  • Assist with Call Reporting.
  • Research and problem solve accounting variances.
  • Provide back-up assistance to other members of the accounting department.
  • Assist Controller with regulatory reporting and accounting projects.
  • Assist and perform in other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

4-year college degree and at least 4 years' experience in accounting/finance profession or regulatory environment specific to banking - or equivalent combination of education & experience

Banking experience

Education and Experience Preferences

Formal education or experience in theoretical or

practical accounting

Knowledge of processes and regulations governing

accounting in financial institutions

Experience with bank accounting software and

system integration

Supervisory experience
