Role:
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records and reporting. This position is responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, including month-end and year-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can analyze financial data to provide insights that support strategic decision-making. Ultimately, the Senior Accountant contributes to the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization by maintaining robust accounting controls and delivering timely, accurate financial information.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. At least 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite. Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements in the United States. Previous experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role. Advanced skills in data analysis and financial modeling.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including coordinating with other departments to gather necessary information. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to assist management in financial planning and decision-making. Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations. Maintain and improve accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and compliance. Assist in the preparation of tax filings and ensure adherence to relevant tax regulations. Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings. Prepare Financial Statements Maintain and update all fixed assets and leases. Review credit card transactions and reconciliation forms.

The Senior Accountant applies strong analytical skills daily to interpret complex financial data and ensure accurate reporting. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel enables efficient management of large datasets and automation of routine tasks. Communication skills are essential for collaborating with internal teams and external auditors, facilitating clear and effective information exchange. Knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations ensures compliance and supports the preparation of accurate financial statements and tax filings. Additionally, problem-solving abilities help identify discrepancies and implement process improvements that enhance overall financial operations.
Working Conditions:
Normally works weekdays from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with overtime possible to meet organizational needs. Some overnight travel may be expected. Will be required to work all inclement weather events. This is an in-person only position.
