Job Description

Overview:
Hickory, NC | Full-Time | In-Person At PayNW, our mission is simple: make lives easier for our clients and colleagues. We're looking for an Accountant who is reliable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing accounting responsibilities with operational support while continuously looking for ways to improve processes and drive results.
Schedule Flexibility:
While this is an in-person role with established core business hours, we recognize that employees may have different scheduling needs and offer limited flexibility when aligned with team and business requirements. Responsibilities General Accounting & Month-End Close Assist with general ledger activities, including revenue recognition, account reconciliations, and month-end close entries. Reconcile A/R balances and maintain supporting subsidiary ledgers. Support financial reporting, account analysis, and process improvement initiatives. Banking & ACH Reconciliation Perform daily bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Review ACH activity to ensure compliance and proper controls. Upload Positive Pay files and manage exception decisions. Resolve bank returns, prenotes, NOCs, and returned transactions. Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Reconcile daily cash activity and process A/R batches. Review, code, and enter A/P invoices with proper approvals. Research and resolve payment issues with a strong sense of ownership. Client & Operational Support Monitor payroll funding tickets and assist with billing inquiries. Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve workflows. Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and enhance the client experience. Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
