Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help drive the financial health of our organization by implementing efficient bookkeeping practices and supporting broader financial operations. Duties Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accurate financial records. Reconcile general ledger accounts, balance sheets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to maintain financial accuracy. Utilize accounting software PierVantage to process transactions efficiently and accurately. Oversee payroll management using ADP while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll laws. Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Assist with budgeting processes, tax preparation, and audit support while maintaining strict adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls for internal compliance. Support governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures as needed. Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy using 10-key typing skills; handle accounts payable/receivable functions diligently. Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data. Qualifications Proven experience in corporate accounting or bookkeeping roles with a strong understanding of GAAP and governmental accounting standards. Proficiency in multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks, ADP or UltiPro; familiarity with financial software integration is a plus. Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis. Experience working within public accounting or non-profit organizations is highly desirable. Excellent math skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account reconciliation tasks. Ability to interpret complex financial data quickly while maintaining a high level of accuracy under tight deadlines.
