The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong in accounting fundamentals, comfortable working in a hands-on environment, and interested in supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function. Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities. This hands-on role performs general ledger accounting activities, prepares journal entries and reconciliations, supports month-end and year-end close processes, and assists with transactional accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash applications. The position supports operational accounting activities, financial reporting accuracy, internal controls, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance organization. The Staff Accountant works collaboratively with Finance, Operations, Purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to support efficient accounting processes and overall business operations.
Key Responsibilities Functional Responsibilities:
Maintain and support general ledger accounting activities across multiple entities Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and supporting schedules Perform monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations Support month-end and year-end close processes Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash applications, and transactional accounting activities as needed Ensure subledgers reconcile accurately to the general ledger Assist with intercompany reconciliations and operational accounting support Review financial activity for accuracy and investigate variances or discrepancies Support audit requests and provide required accounting documentation Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation Operational /
Process Responsibilities:
Support accounting process improvements and workflow standardization initiatives Assist with ERP/system process improvements and accounting efficiencies Analyze accounting issues and identify opportunities for operational improvements Support compliance with company accounting policies and financial controls Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned
Leadership & Collaboration:
Collaborate with operations, purchasing, HR, and finance teams to support business objectives Foster a collaborative and customer-focused approach to internal support functions Communicate effectively across departments regarding accounting processes and financial information Financial /
Strategic Responsibilities:
Support accurate financial reporting and operational accounting activities Assist in maintaining integrity of financial data and internal controls Contribute to process efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance organization

Technical Skills:
Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting preferred Strong understanding of general ledger structure, reconciliations, and month-end close processes Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 365 proficiency ERP system experience required; manufacturing ERP experience preferred Experience working within manufacturing, inventory, or multi-entity environments preferred Ability to analyze financial data and support process improvement initiatives
Qualifications Required:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience preferred Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close
Preferred:
Manufacturing and/or multi-entity accounting experience Experience with ERP/system workflows and accounting process improvements Additional exposure to operational accounting within manufacturing environments Success Metrics Accuracy and timeliness of month-end close activities Reconciliation accuracy and resolution of accounting discrepancies Compliance with accounting policies and internal controls Contribution to accounting process improvements and efficiencies Responsiveness and support provided to internal business partners Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Office and manufacturing environment as applicable Ability to sit, stand, or work at a computer for extended periods Ability to communicate effectively within office and operational environments Occasional interaction within manufacturing or operational facilities may be required Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
