We provide premium systems and services to the Department of Defense, government agencies, and commercial clients across areas including acoustic sensors, signal processing, combat systems, torpedoes, cybersecurity, knowledge management, and electronic warfare. Utilizing strong analytical skills, the Sr Accounting Specialist develops, implements, and maintains accounting processes related to journal entries, the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and revenue reconciliations. This role reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations; balances books; prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income, and balance sheet statements; and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures. We encourage you to apply if you have any of these skills or experiences: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or an equivalent field, plus a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or a masters degree. Knowledge of accounting practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements. Financial analysis, account reconciliation, and financial-report preparation experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred. What youll experience Work with advanced technologies and systems that are often classified. Exposure to accounting operations supporting complex defense and government programs. Opportunities to build knowledge of financial systems, reporting requirements, and regulatory standards. Access to modern tools and technologies supporting financial operations. Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation. What sets you apart Experience preparing and analyzing journal entries, financial reports, and reconciliation documentation. Knowledge of banking, cash-management, and payment-processing transactions. Experience supporting internal and external financial audits. Proficiency with Oracle preferred. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Teams. Representative Duties and Tasks Prepare, analyze, and evaluate financial information associated with banking and cash-management transactions for multiple companies within the financial service center. Monitor daily bank activity; resolve payment, posting, international wire, site-location, and returned-vendor-check issues. Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, reporting documentation, analysis, and monthly balance-sheet account reconciliations. Support internal and external financial audits, weekly miscellaneous check deposits, monthly tax ACH payments, and accounts payable activities. Salary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
