Inventory Accountant About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Inventory Accountant to join a growing organization with a diverse portfolio of products. This role will be responsible for supporting inventory accounting activities, cost analysis, financial reporting, and annual audit requirements while partnering closely with operations, supply chain, and finance teams. The ideal candidate will have strong inventory accounting experience, analytical skills, and the ability to work across multiple product lines in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory accounting records and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Perform inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies between physical inventory counts and financial records. Analyze inventory costs, product margins, variances, and trends to support business decision-making. Prepare inventory-related journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist with annual financial statement audits and reporting requirements. Support inventory valuation processes and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Generate and maintain inventory, cost, and operational reports for leadership. Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and reporting processes. Monitor inventory transactions across multiple product lines and manufacturing or distribution locations. Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased reporting efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3+ years of accounting experience, including inventory accounting and cost analysis. Experience supporting inventory reporting, reconciliations, and financial close activities. Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory accounting principles. Experience working with multiple product lines, SKUs, or complex inventory environments. Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and advanced reporting functions. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments. Preferred Qualifications Manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, or product-based industry experience. Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory controls.
