Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant / Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our accounting processes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee a broad spectrum of financial activities within a mission-driven organization, contributing to strategic decision-making and organizational growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments. Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounting functions including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining compliance with organizational policies. Prepare and review financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. Conduct detailed financial analysis and account analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements. Manage payroll and HR platform from payroll service. Supervise cash management activities, including forecasting cash flow needs and managing banking relationships using financial software such as QuickBooks, and our own company CRM. Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation related to non-profit or governmental accounting as applicable. Support budgeting processes by preparing forecasts and variance analyses to inform strategic planning. Manage and track sale persons commissions and draws Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred. Proven experience in accounting roles with a focus on corporate accounting, public accounting, or non-profit/governmental sectors. Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and general ledger management. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar platforms; experience with financial management tools is essential. Knowledge of regulatory standards including SOX compliance and IFRS reporting requirements. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately. Demonstrated expertise in cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial report writing. Familiarity with technical accounting issues such as payroll processing, account analysis, account reconciliation processes, and regulatory reporting obligations. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Join us as we drive excellence in financial stewardship!
