2930074665-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Job Summary The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of accounting records for a portfolio of Foxfire-managed properties. This position prepares and analyzes financial statements, ensures compliance with internal policies, and works closely with Property Managers and the accounting team. The role requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail consistent with Foxfire's standards, utilizing the accrual basis of accounting, in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Essential Duties and Responsibilities t ? Prepare journal entries required for monthly financial statements ? Prepare and review monthly financial statements for assigned properties by the 10th of every month ? Analyze and explain monthly budget-to-actual variances ? Review A/P, A/R, and prepaid schedules for accuracy ? Review cost center transactions and ensure proper coding ? Complete and verify bank reconciliations for all cash accounts ? Collaborate with Property Managers to review financial performance ? Prepare and reconcile Common Area Maintenance (CAM) billings and annual reconciliations ? Process security deposit accounting in compliance with applicable regulations ? Assist auditors with fiscal year-end reviews, audits, and tax preparation ? Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation ? Ensure compliance with GAAP and Foxfire accounting policies ? Assist with preparation of annual budgets and forecasts ? Prepare reporting required for lenders, investors, and regulatory agencies ? Support system improvements and accounting process efficiencies ? Promote and support Foxfire's company policies, procedures, and values ? Maintain confidentiality of all financial and tenant-related information ? Ability to work well with a diverse group of people. Additional Duties ? Provide backup support for accounts payable, billing, and cash posting functions, as well as attend occasional Board Meetings. ? Assist with annual budget process, including forecasting. ? Prepare annual budget vs. actual reporting for managed properties. ? Participate in ongoing professional education and training. ? Actively seek additional responsibilities when workload permits. ? Education or Experience- Bachelor's degree in accounting from a four-year college or university and at least 3-5 years related experience and/or training. Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting. ? Language Skills
- Must have developed language skills to the point of being able to: read, analyze, and interpret technical and financial documents and reports. Ability to respond to inquiries or issues from customers, personnel, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Able to effectively present information to management, small groups, and/or Board of Directors. ? Software
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with property management or accounting software preferred. ? Reasoning Ability
- Must have developed reasoning skills to be able to: positively identify problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide a viable solution.
