Untill Filled Hudson is a big town with a small-town feel. Our comprehensive K-12 public school district is the heart of the community. Our schools are built on relationships - with each other, with students and with the community. The Hudson School District is seeking an Accountant. The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate and complete financial records for the Hudson School District. Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Accountant performs general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, cash receipts, accounts receivable, grant accounting, financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing, and audit support. The Accountant ensures transactions are properly recorded, supporting documentation is maintained, and financial activities comply with applicable District, state, federal, grant, and accounting requirements. Qualifications include : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, with three years of accounting or auditing experience preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education. Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), preferably including municipal or school district accounting. Ability to prepare reconciliations, journal entries, financial reports, variance analyses, and supporting schedules. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate financial and statistical calculations. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, financial/accounting software, and related technology.
Compensation:
Salary range of $65,000-$70,000 per year based upon experience.
