This is a rare opportunity to own accounting operations inside a stable, well established dealer group with a welcoming culture that is actively becoming more sophisticated through technology investments. The Role As an Automotive Accountant, you'll be a core member of our dealership accounting office, supporting day-to-day operations and the monthly close across our business units. You'll own specific schedules and reconciliations, partner with the Accounting Manager and Controller on process improvement and have real exposure to the full breadth of dealership accounting. This is a hands-on role, you'll be in the schedules, in the reconciliations, and in the details, with genuine room to grow as the business grows. What You'll Do Support daily DMS accounting operations across Honda, Nissan, and Bump Clinic Contribute to the monthly close and manufacturer financial statement preparation Maintain assigned schedules, keeping sub-ledgers clean, current, and reconciled Assist with floor plan reconciliation and floor plan activity F&I product, and chargeback accounting entries Bank reconciliations and general ledger work Partner with the Accounting Manager on documentation, internal controls, and process improvements Contribute ideas on automation and efficiency, we want accountants who think about how to make the work better, not just get it done What You Bring Required Retail automotive dealership accounting experience is a must — minimum 3+ years in a dealership office environment Working knowledge of dealership-specific accounting: schedules, factory statements, F&I, floor plan basics Strong Excel skills and a fundamentally analytical mindset Attention to detail and ownership of your work Discretion and high integrity with confidential financial information Preferred CDK Global DMS experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Exposure to multi-franchise operations, collision center accounting, or used vehicle acquisition channels Experience with modern dealership technology stacks (CRM, floor plan portals, reinsurance platforms) Demonstrated appetite for process improvement and automation, not just keeping the books, but making them run better Why Peters Stable, family-owned group with nearly seven decades of operating history in New Hampshire Active modernization underway, your work will matter and will be visible Real exposure to the full scope of dealership accounting, with room to grow into senior roles as the business evolves Competitive compensation commensurate with experience Full benefits: health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, market leading paid time off Employee vehicle purchase program
