Job Description

Cost Accountant Location:
Salem, NH Compensation - $90-115k base KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting has partnered with a growing manufacturing and technology organization in Salem, NH that is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will have a strong focus on cost and inventory accounting while partnering closely with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and other operational teams. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on cost accounting experience who enjoys digging into inventory, analyzing variances, and identifying ways to improve accounting processes and systems.
Responsibilities :
Lead and coordinate weekly cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and support annual inventory objectives Analyze inventory and manufacturing variances, including purchase price and work order variances, and partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies Support the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries and completing account reconciliations Reconcile consigned inventory accounts with third-party partners Lead the annual standard cost roll process Support cost accounting and ERP system improvements in partnership with management and IT Assist with quarterly excess and obsolete inventory reporting and analysis Support year-end audit requests related to inventory and cost accounting Partner cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and other teams to ensure accurate cost and inventory reporting Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 3+ years of relevant accounting experience Cost and/or inventory accounting experience required Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, inventory, and standard costing Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven monthly close environment Strong Microsoft Excel skills Experience working with ERP systems required; SAP experience is a plus If you are interested in this opportunity, please email Dalton Rolli at drolli@kbwfinancial.com for immediate consideration.
