We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Staff Accountant to support a non-profit organization in Somerset, New Jersey . This Long-term Contract opportunity offers a flexible part-time schedule of approximately 24 to 30 hours per week across three days . The position focuses on core accounting operations, including payables, reconciliations, general ledger activity, and payroll support, while helping maintain accurate financial records and compliance.
Part-Time Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
Manage invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor account follow-up to keep accounts payable activities current and accurate. Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring financial transactions are properly reflected in the general ledger. Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts on a routine basis to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly. Maintain accounting records in QuickBooks Online and support the accuracy of day-to-day financial reporting. Assist with payroll-related tasks, including reviewing supporting information and helping ensure timely processing. Support month-end close activities by organizing documentation and verifying the completeness of accounting data. Contribute to sales tax and corporate tax-related record preparation by maintaining organized financial information for reporting needs.
