Job Description

Record daily financial transactions (AP, AR, bank deposits, journal entries). Maintain general ledger accuracy. Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and employee reimbursements. Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and petty cash. Verify and resolve discrepancies in ledgers. Assist with payroll processing. Help prepare sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax filings. Support senior staff with compliance documentation. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Generate trial balances, aging reports, and variance analyses. Maintain accurate records for audits. Ensure adherence to company accounting policies and GAAP standards. Prepare financial documentation for clients, auditors, or management. Support senior accountants and controllers with ad hoc projects. Summary As a Junior Accountant, you will support daily financial operations and assist with the preparation of accurate financial records. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will contribute to accounts payable, data entry, and general ledger activities while leveraging your proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and accounting systems. Your precision in balance sheet and account reconciliations, along with a solid understanding of GAAP, will help ensure timely financial close, accurate journal entries, and reliable financial reporting for internal performance reviews. Qualifications Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data entry with strong spreadsheet and data analysis skills Foundational accounting experience including accounts payable, general ledger, journal entries, and financial close processes Familiarity with accounting systems and financial software; ability to perform balance sheet and account reconciliations Attention to detail with strong math, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; able to ensure accuracy in financial records Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Basic understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance concepts; prior exposure to SOX, QuickBooks, or ADP is a plus
