Discretionary A growing, family-owned food manufacturing company in South Jersey is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its expanding Accounting team. This individual will work closely with the Costing Manager, plant operations, finance, sales, and senior leadership to support costing, operational analysis, reporting, and process improvement across North American operations. Responsibilities Partner with the Costing Manager on key accounting, costing, operational, and analytical initiatives. Analyze manufacturing costs, operational performance, and financial data to identify trends and opportunities. Develop and improve data collection and reporting processes across plant locations. Create dashboards, forecasting tools, KPI trackers, and management reporting. Automate recurring reporting and analytical processes using advanced Excel and business intelligence tools. Support the development and refinement of pricing strategies. Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Operations, Sales, and senior leadership. Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. Participate in projects involving U.S. and Canadian plant locations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3-5 years of cost accounting, financial analysis, business analysis, or related experience. Manufacturing experience required or strongly preferred; food and beverage manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with business intelligence and data tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel VBA, or similar platforms. Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments and levels of leadership. Ability to travel periodically between U.S. and Canadian locations. Experience within the meat or protein industry is a plus.
