full-time A leading food manufacturer based in Totowa, NJ is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to their accounting team due to the continued growth and expansion of the company via acquisitions. This Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting their accounting operations and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Manage and support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare and review financial statements, general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Conduct variance analysis and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing financial insights to management. Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency. Assist with developing and improving accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Support the external audit process and work with outside auditors as needed. Partner with various departments to research and resolve accounting and financial issues. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate environment. Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting. Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Food Manufacturing experience is highly preferred, but any manufacturing experience is very helpful.
