Monday, Wednesday, Friday | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Position Summary A growing organization is seeking a Junior Accountant to provide hands-on accounting support across multiple entities. This individual will assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, general ledger support, month-end close activities, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have prior real estate accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a small accounting environment. This role requires someone who is comfortable managing multiple priorities, maintaining organized records, and supporting accounting processes across separate entities. This is a long-term part-time opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time position for the right individual. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Enter and code vendor invoices within accounting systems Prepare invoices for processing and ensure proper supporting documentation is maintained Match invoices against purchase orders and receipts while identifying discrepancies Accounts Receivable Apply customer payments and assist with deposit processing Review aging reports and support follow-up on outstanding balances Assist with rent billing and related accounting activities Reconciliations & General Accounting Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Support intercompany transactions and quarterly billbacks Maintain monthly reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation Enter transactions into accounting software and maintain accurate entity-level records Assist with adjusting entry preparation and general ledger activities Month-End Close & Reporting Support Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for month-end close Assist with accrual worksheets and internal reporting Provide updates on completed tasks, outstanding items, and follow-up needs Administrative Accounting Support Maintain organized accounting files and backup documentation Manage recurring spreadsheets and ensure accuracy across multiple entities Assist with vendor inquiries and accounting-related requests
Qualifications Required:
1-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Prior real estate accounting experience required Experience with accounting software systems such as MRI, Sage, AVID, Yardi, or similar platforms Strong Excel skills and ability to manage complex spreadsheets Experience with reconciliations, invoice processing, and general accounting support Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through Ability to manage multiple entities and maintain accurate financial records
