Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Intern to support our finance and accounting team with day-to-day accounting operations. The intern will gain hands-on experience in areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting . This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop practical accounting skills in a professional business environment. The Accounting Intern will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial documentation, and supporting monthly accounting processes. Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting Support Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records and documentation. Support the accounting team with daily bookkeeping activities. Help organize and maintain financial files and records. Accounts Payable Assist with processing vendor invoices. Verify invoice details and supporting documentation. Enter invoices into the accounting system. Help prepare payment batches and track vendor payments. Accounts Receivable Assist in preparing and sending customer invoices. Monitor incoming payments and update payment records. Help follow up on outstanding invoices when necessary. Bank and Account Reconciliations Assist with bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations . Support reconciliation of accounts such as expenses, vendor balances, and other financial accounts. Identify discrepancies and report them to the accounting supervisor. Financial Reporting Support Assist in preparing financial reports and spreadsheets. Help gather data required for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting . Support preparation of accounting schedules and summaries. Data Entry and Record Maintenance Perform accurate data entry of financial transactions. Maintain accounting spreadsheets and internal reports. Assist in updating accounting databases. Internal Control and Compliance Ensure financial documents comply with company policies. Assist with maintaining proper documentation for audits and financial reviews. Special Projects Support the accounting team with financial analysis, reporting projects, and administrative tasks as needed. Assist with internal finance projects such as cost tracking or departmental budget analysis. Learning Opportunities During the internship, the candidate will gain experience in: Real-world accounting practices Financial reporting and analysis Accounting software systems Internal control procedures Corporate finance operations Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Skills and Competencies Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to handle confidential financial information Technical Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) Familiarity with accounting software is a plus (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Experience with data analysis or spreadsheet modeling Knowledge of basic accounting processes such as journal entries and reconciliations Key Competencies Attention to detail Analytical thinking Professional communication Time management Team collaboration Integrity and confidentiality Reporting Structure The Accounting Intern will report to the: Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant /
