Job Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a corporate accounting team in Mahwah, New Jersey. In this role, you will contribute to core accounting operations across the general ledger, payables, receivables, reconciliations, and financial reporting while helping ensure accurate and timely close activities. This opportunity is well suited for an accounting team member who enjoys working cross-functionally, solving issues proactively, and continuing to build technical expertise in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Record accounting activity through journal entries and ensure account balances are supported by thorough reconciliations.
  • Contribute to monthly and annual closing cycles by preparing schedules, reviewing transactions, and helping meet reporting deadlines.
  • Examine financial results to identify inconsistencies, investigate variances, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with day-to-day accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to promote accurate and efficient transaction handling.
  • Maintain organized general ledger records and preserve complete financial documentation for reporting and audit readiness.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, internal reports, and analysis used by the accounting team and business partners.
  • Help manage sales tax and other compliance-related accounting tasks in accordance with company requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Provide audit support by gathering requested records, preparing schedules, and responding to documentation needs.
  • Partner with internal departments to address accounting questions, improve information flow, and support business operations.
  • Participate in process improvement efforts, special assignments, and additional accounting projects as business needs evolve.
