Position Description:
The role of a Staff accountant is expected to acquire and develop competence, skills, and judgment in accounting principles and auditing procedures.
Responsibilities:
Understand client's business, determine and post entries Identify the circumstances that need to be recorded and make proper entries Maintain supporting schedule. Prepare if necessary. Prepare reconciliation for the main accounts. Create if necessary. Prepare reporting package in the client's format Understand the basics of income tax provision Communicate with the client and provide accounting advice Assist the client with an external auditor's requests. Able to assist clients with business compliance needs Hands on use of accounting software, QuickBooks (both Online and Desktop) Process cash payments (check, ACH, wire-transfer) for client-approved invoices Communicate with bank as necessary Perform required steps for compilation engagement in accordance with SSARS21, by following the program in ProSystem fx Engagement Proactively interact with key client's management to gather information, resolve problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements Contribute to our clients' satisfaction by participating in client meetings, providing timely and effective responses and services to address clients' requests and concerns, and providing consultation on client matters. Possess good working knowledge of Excel, Word and other Assist supervisors in running efficient engagements, such as drafting engagement letters and invoices. Work on multiple engagements simultaneously and manage time and work effectively
Qualifications:
To qualify, candidate must have: Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college/university. A CPA license, or qualified candidate to sit for the CPA exam. Strong accounting and analytical skills.
Strong computer skills:
proficiency in Accounting software, Excel, Word. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Detail-oriented and able to multi-task. Japanese language and writing proficiency is required.
