Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly close process by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and ensuring financial records are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording complex transactions, reviewing account activity, and resolving discrepancies as they arise.
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Perform detailed reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, identifying variances and following through to resolution.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities by monitoring transactions, researching issues, and helping maintain accurate subledger reporting.
- Prepare sales tax filings and assist with related reporting requirements to ensure timely and accurate submission.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning by analyzing historical trends and current financial data.
- Track fixed assets, calculate depreciation, and maintain accurate records for capital expenditures and asset activity.
- Apply construction accounting knowledge to monitor project costs, analyze construction-related expenses, and support cost reporting for ongoing work.
