This position will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, reconciling accounts, and helping ensure strong financial controls across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background and prior experience working in the healthcare industry , with an understanding of the financial and operational complexities of a healthcare organization. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate and complete general ledger records Prepare and post journal entries Perform monthly bank, credit card, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activity Review transactions for accuracy, proper coding, and supporting documentation Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed Maintain organized accounting records and documentation Support internal and external audits by preparing requested schedules and documentation Assist with payroll-related accounting and reconciliations, as applicable Help maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner Collaborate with operations, leadership, and other departments regarding financial matters Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable accounting standards Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred Previous professional accounting experience required Healthcare industry accounting experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle confidential financial and business information with discretion Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in healthcare, home health, hospice, behavioral health, medical services, or another healthcare-related organization are especially encouraged to apply. Experience with healthcare-related financial operations, multiple entities or locations, payroll accounting, reimbursement processes, or healthcare accounting systems is a plus. We are looking for an accountant who can not only maintain accurate financial records but also identify discrepancies, improve processes, and provide reliable financial information to support the organization.
