Job Description

A client in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to provide coverage during an upcoming leave. This role is critical to maintaining accurate project financials, supporting ongoing construction initiatives, and ensuring continuity within a busy and structured accounting environment. The Project Accountant will work closely with the project accounting team and will have full access to support and resources. This role is onsite and candidates must have recent Construction industry experience with change orders, AIA billing forms, and Procore software experience to be considered.

Responsibilities for the
Project Accountant:
  • Oversee construction project accounting, ensuring all financial records align with budgets and compliance standards.
  • Review and process change orders, verifying costs against project budgets and contractual agreements.
  • Utilize Oracle and Procore systems to manage project setups and configurations effectively.
  • Audit billing documentation, including AIA billing and substantiation, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with project teams to analyze financial data and provide insights for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Monitor and verify construction costs, ensuring they meet contractual and budgetary requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of construction-related financial documents, such as schedules and loan agreements.
  • Conduct financial audits to ensure adherence to industry standards and legal regulations.
  • Provide support to senior analysts and supervisors, addressing inquiries and resolving financial discrepancies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction accounting practices and tools to optimize processes.
