Reno, NV | Full-Time | $20.42 - $22.13 per Hour We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant III to support accounts payable and financial operations in a fast-paced professional environment. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring transactions are completed efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, accounting experience, and a commitment to providing excellent service while working collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working with financial data, solving discrepancies, and supporting day-to-day business operations. Successful candidates will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, maintaining accuracy in a high-volume setting, and utilizing accounting software and spreadsheets to track and report financial information. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Process and track interment fees and related financial transactions. Receive, review, and process invoices and billings for payment. Enter and post financial transactions utilizing accounting software systems. Reconcile weekly financial and statistical reports. Balance daily financial transactions and maintain detailed tracking spreadsheets. Process journal vouchers to correct coding discrepancies. Initiate and process refunds as needed. Communicate with vendors regarding missing invoices, payment questions, or billing corrections. Research and resolve account discrepancies and financial inquiries. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Prepare routine memoranda, correspondence, reports, and spreadsheets. Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Three years of progressively responsible clerical accounting experience. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and/or other accounting functions. Experience creating and maintaining spreadsheets used to organize, track, and report financial data. Experience researching, interpreting, and reporting financial information. Experience reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of accounting reconciliation procedures, bookkeeping practices, and account maintenance methods. Strong understanding of spreadsheet applications and financial recordkeeping. Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and recommend solutions. Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and accounting software. Ability to prepare routine correspondence, reports, and financial documentation. Ability to work professionally and courteously with coworkers, vendors, government agencies, and members of the public. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
