Job Description
Summary:
Under the direction of the Diocesan Comptroller, the Staff Accountant will be working in a fast-paced, busy office environment, accounting for multiple corporate entities with deadlines. Duties include but are not limited to; accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, financial reporting and management/oversight of employee benefit programs (disability and life insurances as well as pension). In addition to the skills necessary to provide accounting support, success in this position is dependent on the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, communicate with tact, and to work and interact effectively with co-workers and the public. This position will also be cross trained with other areas in the Finance Department. The Staff Accountant will have the opportunity for future growth with the organization. Knowledge, skill and abilities required:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Business strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs such as Excel, Outlook and Word
- Knowledge in MS Office programs such as Excel, Outlook and Word
- Ability to work independently and set schedule in accordance with office deadlines
- Ability to move from project to project as needed or ability to multi-task
- Ability to recognize and respect matters of confidentiality
- Clear written and oral communication, tact and courtesy; attention to detail
- Knowledge of and respect for the teachings and traditions of the
