Full-Time, In-Person Salary:
$65,000-$80,000 per year, based on experience We are an established tax and accounting firm in Commack, NY seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant with 3+ years of public accounting experience who is looking for a long-term position with a smaller firm and exposure to a wide variety of clients and accounting and tax matters. Our staff accountants work directly with business owners, individual clients and the firm's partners and are involved in the full client relationship — from bookkeeping and year-end accounting through tax planning and preparation. Responsibilities Prepare individual, corporate and partnership income tax returns Perform monthly and quarterly bookkeeping and accounting for business clients Review client books and records for accuracy and identify necessary adjustments Prepare year-end closing entries and financial statements Assist with tax planning strategies and year-end tax projections for businesses and individuals Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting and tax matters Research federal, state and local tax issues as needed Work closely with partners and other staff on client engagements Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience , preferably with a CPA or public accounting firm Experience preparing individual and business tax returns Working knowledge of Forms 1040, 1065, 1120-S and 1120 Strong understanding of bookkeeping and general accounting principles Experience with QuickBooks preferred Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team Why Join Our Firm?
