Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Flushing, New York. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic accounting environment and has a strong grasp of financial processes. The role involves managing critical accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
• Prepare and post journal entries to reflect financial activities accurately.
• Conduct account reconciliations to verify data accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage bank reconciliations to maintain alignment between financial records and bank statements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Assist in developing and implementing improvements to accounting processes.
• Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc financial tasks as needed. Requirements
• Proven experience in accounting roles, particularly in month-end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger systems and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.
• Expertise in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
