Description Property Accountant / Real Estate Accountant, Garden City, Long Island, NY Anna Parson at Robert Half is partnering with a growing real estate organization seeking a Property Accountant / Real Estate Accountant to support the financial operations of a diverse property portfolio. Property Accountant / Real Estate Accountant role offers the opportunity to work closely with accounting leadership while managing day-to-day accounting, reporting, and cash management activities. As the Property Accountant / Real Estate Accountant, you will: + Maintain accounting records and support financial reporting for a portfolio of real estate properties. + Oversee accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and electronic payment administration. + Perform bank reconciliations, cash management functions, and account analysis across multiple banking relationships. + Monitor and reconcile property-related expenses, utilities, assessments, escrow activity, and capital expenditures. + Prepare financial schedules, audit support documentation, and management reports while assisting with special projects and process improvements. Requirements Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. + 3+ years of property accounting, real estate accounting, or related accounting experience. + Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. + Experience working with multiple entities, locations, or properties preferred. + Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
