Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Henpstead, NY. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong attention to detail and expertise in mortgage banking. The ideal candidate will excel in financial reporting, revenue allocation, and managing complex datasets while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial reports and profit and loss statements across multiple locations.
• Allocate revenue accurately for each location and ensure proper tracking.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to work with large datasets and ensure data integrity.
• Calculate commissions and ensure timely processing.
• Perform account reconciliations, including general ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Manage journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Apply accounting principles specific to mortgage banking and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate on special projects as requested to support the organization's financial goals.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
