Job Description
We are currently seeking a Cash Applications Specialist to join our Accounting team in Hicksville, NY.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for accurately applying customer payments, maintaining accounts receivable records, supporting cash reconciliation activities, and assisting with various accounting functions. ResponsibilitiesAccurately apply customer payments received via check, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards to customer accounts.
Process and reconcile daily cash receipts and deposits.
Research and resolve unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and short payments.
Process and print invoices for web transactions.
Review and respond to customer invoice and payment inquiries.
Maintain accurate accounts receivable records and assist with customer account reconciliations.
Generate and distribute accounts receivable statements as needed.
Assist with collections and follow up on outstanding balances.
Prepare and run daily, weekly, and monthly cash application and accounts receivable reports.
Maintain organized spreadsheets and accounting records using Excel and internal systems.
Handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
Provide administrative support to the Accounting Department and assist with special projects as assigned.
QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or general accounting preferred.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall computer skills.
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
