Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our client's accounting team at a well-established, thriving distribution company. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, payroll, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role plays a critical leadership position in ensuring financial integrity, operational compliance, and a positive workplace culture. Key Responsibilities Perform daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records. Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable. Prepare bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Manage a staff of 2 accounting coordinators Assist with inventory accounting, including reconciliations and adjustments. Review invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documentation for accuracy. Assist with financial reporting and preparation of management reports. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies. Maintain organized accounting files and documentation. Partner with an external HR counsel service on employee relations and compliance matters Support internal management on workplace conduct, policy adherence, and employee communications Work closely with operations, purchasing, sales, and management to resolve financial issues. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 7+ years of accounting experience - accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger accounting. Strong understanding of general accounting principles. Must have experience using ERP systems. Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
