Accounting & Payroll Financial Specialist Temp to Possible Perm, 3 months + Monday - Friday 830am-5pm The Accounting & Payroll Financial Specialist is responsible for supporting payroll accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, audits, journal entries, and related financial functions. This position requires strong communication skills, advanced Excel and database capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to identify trends, develop solutions, and streamline processes. Primary Responsibilities Communicate effectively, openly, and honestly with staff and organizational leaders on a consistent basis. Independently create and design useful spreadsheets and databases. Perform monthly and annual account reconciliations for payroll liability accounts. Ensure payroll taxes are paid accurately and on a timely basis. Complete assigned external audit work and assist with internal audit functions. Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries within areas of responsibility. Support corporate financial statement preparation and complete subsidiary financial statements. Review financial statements to ensure accounts balance and revenues and expenses appear appropriate. Complete necessary financial ratio calculations and assist with year-end projections. Utilize intermediate to expert computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Functional / Organizational Support Responsibilities and assignments may evolve or be determined based on organizational needs. Qualifications & Attributes Strong written and verbal communication skills. Previous nonprofit experience preferred. Ability to identify trends, develop effective solutions, and streamline processes. Excellent computer skills, including expert knowledge of: Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word Database software and file maintenance Ceridian Dayforce experience preferred.
