Staff Accountant Location:
Middletown, NY Salary:
$62,350 to $65,000 annually Seeking Staff Accountant to support financial accountability across assigned contracts and programs. This role works closely with the Fiscal Department, Program Managers, and leadership to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with funding requirements, and adherence to GAAP and FAS standards.
Responsibilities:
Review assigned contracts and budgets, monitor reporting requirements, and prepare required financial and contract reports by deadline Collaborate with Program Managers and Directors to track funding, support contract disbursements, and help maximize available funding Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and other documentation to support monthly close and audit activities Monitor financial activity including general ledger reporting, spreadsheets, accounts payable, cash receipts, and payroll allocations for accuracy and compliance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and multi-funded nonprofit accounting Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, with advanced Excel skills preferred Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and time management skills with close attention to detail
