Senior Accountant Compensation $35-40 per hour Benefits & Growth Gain exposure to high-impact government contract accounting Work directly with senior finance leadership and controllers Opportunity for further engagement or conversion based on performance Why This Opportunity Stands Out Immediate business-critical impact covering key FMLA assignment Executive visibility: report directly to Controller/Senior Controller Lead accounting on major state/county contracts across 12 programs Cross-functional collaboration with operations and program leaders Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant Drive monthly and quarterly contract revenue recognition, posting entries and reconciliations for state and county programs Manage financial reporting for 3–4 core contracts (up to 12 programs), ensuring data integrity and timely submissions Coordinate unit-of-service data gathering with program managers, proactively identifying discrepancies and resolving issues Prepare, review, and modify budgets, ensuring contract and compliance alignment; submit budget modifications as needed Utilize Sage Intacct to generate and analyze program-level reports; provide support on ad hoc assignments as bandwidth allows Must-Have Skills/Experience Strong accounting background with proven experience in revenue recognition and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) Demonstrated teamwork and effective communication in a multi-person finance environment Location New Hyde Park, Queens— On-site fully; local candidates only #
