Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations by ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across all accounting functions. This position is responsible for managing general ledger activities, overseeing accounts payable processes, and contributing to the monthly close and financial reporting cycle. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while upholding high standards of accuracy and professionalism. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare and post general ledger journal entries with accuracy and timeliness. Lead and optimize accounts payable processes, ensuring efficient, accurate handling of transactions and purchase orders while identifying opportunities for workflow improvements. Partner with the finance team to prepare and review monthly financial reports, supporting program monitoring and ensuring compliance with financial standards. Support monthly close activities for assigned programs, including account reconciliations and variance analysis. Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Ensure full compliance with organizational and finance policies Bring strong attention to detail and accounting expertise to effectively support critical financial operations across the organization.
Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, along with experience working in a fast-paced accounting environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting software is preferred. Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
