Staff Accountant 212 East Columbus Avenue, Bellefontaine, OH 43311 Full-time Full-time Staff Accountant Position Open Due to Promotion at Community Health & Wellness Partners! This position is on-site and not a remote opportunity
Job Purpose:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate financial data management. This role is crucial in supporting the accounting department by executing essential accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the finance team to provide accurate and timely financial information, which is vital for strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations by maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial data and insights. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and ensure timely resolution of any discrepancies. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Participate in special projects and initiatives as required, providing financial analysis and insights to support business objectives. Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Stay updated with industry trends and changes in financial regulations to ensure compliance and best practices in accounting operations.
Required Education:
Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related financial field. Proven experience with accounting software and ERP systems. Experience in preparing financial statements and reports. Demonstrated experience in managing accounts payable and receivable. Experience in conducting audits and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant accounting standards.
