The deal also facilitates the distribution of Castillo Hermanos s brands, meeting nostalgia-driven demand from US Hispanic consumers. Harvest Hill is headquartered in Stamford, CT with a nationwide network of manufacturing and distribution facilities, employing over 1,000 employees in the United States.POSITION SUMMARY
The Cost Accountant supports the manufacturing finance function by assisting with product and plant cost analysis, inventory valuation, standard costing activities, and routine reporting. This entry-level role works closely with plant operations, supply chain, and finance to help investigate variances, support month-end close, and build a strong foundation in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with analysis of manufacturing and plant performance, including labor, material, and overhead costs, to support operational and financial decision-making Prepare routine standard cost and variance reports, research differences, and escalate issues as needed Support inventory valuation activities, including physical inventories, cycle counts, reconciliations, and inventory audit preparation Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and other cost accounting entries Help maintain standard costing data, including bills of material and overhead assumptions Prepare recurring and ad hoc cost, margin, and profitability analyses under guidance from finance leadership Support budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking for manufacturing operations Assist in identifying material loss, waste, and production variances and contribute to continuous improvement efforts Follow internal controls, accounting policies, and established processes to help ensure accurate cost accounting and reportingREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 1+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing or cost accounting exposure preferred Basic understanding of accounting principles and an interest in developing expertise in cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing finance Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and pivot tables Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks, learn quickly, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functionsPREFERRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Internship, co-op, or prior experience in manufacturing, consumer products is preferred Exposure to ERP systems or a standard cost environment is preferredTRAVEL :
