Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team at our corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and leading general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and ad hoc analysis for a regional portfolio of commercial and multi-family real estate assets. This position provides financial leadership, direction, and problem-solving to the regional leadership team, collaborating effectively with regional operations leaders, property managers, and asset management. General Ledger Management:
Oversee multi-property/entity General Ledger maintenance, including journal entries and cash receipts; identify and correct errors in coding or booking.
Financial Forecasting:
Build rolling 12-month income and expense forecasts for the property portfolio according to commercial strategies and trends aligned with regional management.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities.
Capital Tracking:
Track and forecast multi-year capital projects and appropriations.
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate financial results, deviations, and indicated actions with the regional leadership team and onsite property management.
Analysis:
Research and report on meaningful income and expense variances.
Collaboration:
Interact and collaborate effectively with individuals across all areas of the company.
Professionalism:
Represent the company in a professional manner at all times; maintain a professional, courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers, and the general public.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field in property accounting.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks, SAP).
