Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with audits. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of our financial information and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP. Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and payments. Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and balance sheets. Assist with budget preparation and forecasting activities. Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports. Analyze financial data and provide insights to improve financial performance. Maintain organized financial records and documentation. Assist in the implementation of new accounting software and systems. Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient financial operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Excel. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or CMA certification (or working towards certification). Experience with tax preparation and compliance. Familiarity with financial modeling and analysis.
