Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, reconciliations, and general ledger activities. This role assists with maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting month-end close processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, and journal entries. Review billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy. Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close activities. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Identify discrepancies and communicate issues to management in a timely manner. Assist with process improvements and maintaining internal controls. Performing other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in financial data. Working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze financial information and resolve discrepancies. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience preferred. Experience with Sage Intacct software preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
